Gotland 2008 day 2
August 11

We managed to drive 117 km on Fårö (Fårö is 20 km from north to south)

We started our tours around 8 a'clock each morning.

Waiting for the ferry to Fårö.
Fårö (Gutnish Faroy; literally, "distant island") is a small Baltic Sea island north of the province of Gotland, off Sweden's southeastern coast.
It is the second-largest island in the province. It has a population of less than 600, and has become a popular summer resort.
The island has no banks, post offices, medical services or police, and very few roads. It has its own dialect, claimed to be the oldest language in Sweden.

The ferry takes 7 minutes.

Happy bikers.

We started by going to the south part. Here with the island Bungeör in the background.

Bertil & Heinz

We saw most of the gravel roads on Fårö.

This is a typical "Heinz picture"

This is the old pilot bridge at the north entrance of Fårö/Fårösund.

We were lucky with the weather.

The light house, when entering Fårösund from the north.

The fishing village "Helgumannen".

Gunnar enjoyed to get back to Gotland, where he was born.

Bertil & Heinz at Langhammars, in fron of a "rauk"
Rauk (Swedish plural: raukar) is a Swedish term for a stone column created by natural erosion.
Rauks can be found on the islands of Gotland and Fårö. Many rauks have been eroded into unusual shapes.

We were invited to Bertils brother for lunch.

Lennart & Heinz

Lennart is quite proud to show his bike from 1963.

The north point of Fårö.

The road along the beach, close to Gåsemora.

You can't go to Fårö, without a visit to Kuten. It's a Restaurant, Night club and museum, all combined !

The owner doesn't like to buy new stuff, he prefer to use old stuff.

The owner Thomas, with Gunnar & Heinz.

A kiosk from 1950 can be used also today....right?

Heinz met an Austrian family.

Heinz liked Kuten. (http://www.kuten.se/)

Kuten has also a collection of old cars.

along with other rusty stuff.

Together, we probably took 4-500 pictures during our trip.
